We have an opportunity to join our global organization as a Capacity Planning Analyst.

 

Position Overview:

This position reports to the Director - Purchasing for TRW Automotive?s Occupant Safety Systems business unit.  The unit currently has manufacturing facilities throughout North America with support teams located in Washington, MI.  Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

 

This position is responsible for accessing and tracking capacity for components utilized in all products of OSS N.a., understanding the volume requirements for the programs and customers and then communicating the status and coordinating within the purchasing function and the cross-functional team actions as a result of the capacity status. Responsible for maintaining a database (Tooling Information System) which includes data entry and report generation. Confirmation of accuracy of the reports which are generated and actions to address any inaccuracy found. Communication and determination of actions as a result of the capacity status. Perform periodical verification of the capacity information with suppliers and/or Commodity Managers. Pariticpate in CQA meetings as required to gain understanding of new programs which might possibly be awarded to OSS NA and determine and communicate the potential tooling impact and corresponding capacity tooling expansion kick off needs as results. Run capacity simulations and studies based on the opportunities. Access and track capacity for components utilized in OSS NA. Interface with Commodity Management, NPI and Cross Functionally as required providing information and escalation where necessary regarding tooling / capital capacity. Run Capacity studies (RPPA) for adding new volumes or changing components of existing programs. Coordinate with the OSS Plants as required. Coordinate with OSS Europe or other TRW plants and 3rd parties potentially that utilize common components with OSS NA which might impact global capacitcy. Travel to those sites from time to time as required. Coordinate the update and maintainace of the volume requierements database (VCS), and interface with Sales/Marketing to make sure all the inputs for the program volume are accurate and done in a timely manner, and with engineering to make sure BOMs are updated in the system.

 

Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or technical field. Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. Knowledge of processes and tooling utilized in such commodities as Injection Molding, Stampings, Castings, Tubing etc. Knowledge of Electronics manufacturing processes and capital / tooling utilized for electronic components. Understanding of engineering bill of materials. Strong organizational skills. Database management skills. Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

 

This position will be located at the TRW facility in Washington, Michigan.
