Commodity Manager Memory

Duties: Member of a Global Supplier Management team responsible for: 1)  Managing a commodity portfolio worth several hundred million dollars, consisting of several thousand parts and involving several hundred suppliers.  2)  Achieving cost reductions, implementing inventory flexibility and agility programs and gaining supplier payment terms that when combined, minimizes cash cycle days.  3)  Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying alternate Asian suppliers, and getting them placed on customer's approved vendor list (AVL).  4)  Improving supplier quality and on-time delivery performance to MRP need-date.  5)  Interacting with Plant Management, Account Management, and Supplier Management to achieve needs of the business.  6)  Leading a cross functional team of junior commodity managers, component engineers, quality engineers, data analysts, and lawyers.



This position will focus on Memory products and requires a working knowledge of suppliers, technology, and market conditions for these materials.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree from an accredited college.  APICS or CPM certification.  Five or more years experience in commodity sourcing.  Experience in managing cross functional teams.  Proven cost reduction and asset management skills.  Effective contract negotiator.  Proficient using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.  Experience in global sourcing with particular focus on sourcing in Asia.  Knowledge and experience with the product development process.  Self confident, self motivated, results oriented, and driven by success.
