Corporate MRO/Capital Buyer

Job Description:


Corporate (multi-plant) MRO procurement, managing contract pricing; achieving cost savings targets; driving the supplier cost reduction effort, participating on new product development teams, performing RFQs and managing corporate contracts.  Also, this position will coordinate, manage and negotiation the procurement of all capital equipment, i.e., tooling, vehicles, machines, computer hardware, etc.
 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

Must have a 4 year degree in a business related field.

Must have 5+ years experience in purchasing MRO commodities (Capex, tools, tooling, indirect materials and services, office supplies, etc) in a multi-plant manufacturing environment.

Must have experience in MRO management program start ?ups.

Must have a detailed understanding of manufacturing environments and processes.

Exemplary data analysis skill (MS Excel, Access, Project, Powerpoint) an absolute must.

Must be familiar with vendor rating systems; must possess the understanding of the total cost of ownership versus straight purchasing.

Strong experience in lean manufacturing and lead-time reduction initiatives.

Excellent verbal and written communicating skills are a must.

NAPM/APS certification preferred but not required.
