American Showa, Inc., a Tier 1 supplier to the auto industry has an immediate opening for a Cost Planning Specialist (Buyer) w/our Head Office Cost Planning Department in our Blanchester, OH manufacturing facility.

 

The ideal candidate will coordinate activities such as sourcing and negotiating quality and cost effective goods and services such as raw material, tools, OEM parts, equipment, and supplies by performing the following duties:

 Confers with Sub-contractors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.Selects OEM parts for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items; estimates values according to knowledge of market price; reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts w/in limitations and scope of authority.Maintains cost planning records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance.Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services w/inspection or quality control personnel, users, sub-contractors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.Locate, evaluate and recommend reliable supply sources for production materials as required.Negotiate pricing for OEM parts and tooling as required.Assure timely implementation of sourcing for new & revised OEM parts.Implement & track continuous improvement programs w/sub-contractors.Document & present strategies & costs for projects as required.
