Director, FSG Supply Chain Management/Global Procurement
Reporting directly to the VP Business Development, Food Service Group and indirectly to the VP Supply Chain, Manitowoc Company, this position is responsible to develop, document, and implement FSG supply chain policies, procedures, and processes, establish and nurture procurement of goods and services to meet business initiatives and goals, and ensure compliance with all internal company policies and external laws and regulations. This position will have direct responsibility for days payable outstanding and joint responsibility with corporate and business units for material cost improvement, inventory turns, cycle time, service level attainment, and logistics performance.
*Identify and document organizational roles and responsibilities for each commodity and service used within the group.
*Develop and execute FSG commodity strategies.
*Recommend hedging strategies for assigned commodities and execution of appropriate contracts to support approved strategies.
*Work with the corporation and business unit supply chain personnel to identify commodity strategies to insure material availability that meet the specifications and service levels of plant operations at the lowest total cost of acquisition for the company as measured by EVA.
*Manage the supplier marketplace maintaining strategic position in terms of marketplace conditions, supplier activities, financial, government, legal and economic changes as appropriate to insure sustainable success for all business units.
*Assist corporate, division and business unit leadership in establishing annual strategic and business plan segments and operating expectations in the areas of cost, inventory, freight and customer service. Develop functional reporting relationship with dotted line authority with purchasing leadership in all corporate and business units.
*Establish global procurement strategies to broaden the Food Service supplier base to improve competitive cost and quality position, increase supplier capabilities and technologies, and provide commercial access to support the globalization growth strategies.
*Develop minority owned and low cost country suppliers for products and services.
*Maintain and support FSG Oracle ERP system by developing, documenting and implementing policies, and procedures for procurement activities. Create and maintain the supply master and blanket purchase orders and other required activities.
*Define and implement a management information system for Supply Chain KPI?s.
*Support ISO certification by developing, documenting and implementing the policies, procedures, and processes to for FSG.
*Develop and maintain a FSG supplier rating system.
*Work with FSG business units to improve working capital turns using lean sigma tools.
*Support NPI teams to assist in meeting Innovation business goals by staying abreast of new technologies and products available in the marketplace.
*Assist business units to implement cost improvement projects to achieve realized cost improvements targets.
College degree in business or engineering required. MBA a definitive plus.
NAPM and/or APICS certifications desired.
15-20 years of professional business experience with a progressive track record of accomplishments in high volume, repetitive, manufacturing environments. Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible operating results in a procurement function.
Prior procurement experience, expertise and industry knowledge in the commodity areas of steel, compressors, injection and rotational molding, metal fabrication, tubing, foam, fasteners, capital equipment and packaging is highly desired.
Possess 3-5 years of international sourcing with an emphasis in the Asian marketplace.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial skills required.
Strong interpersonal and skills, both written and verbal are required.
Strong leadership, negotiating and persuasive skills required.
Must project a strong and professional image in representing the Food Service Group.
Ability to speak mandarin a decided plus.
