Job Description: OBJECTIVES: Provide an accurate list of labor and materials for the construction of each home using established standards. Ensure sufficient quantities to do the job without overstatement. Provide accurate reporting on margins to division management. Continually refine the systems and procedures to improve quality and control costs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Estimate and cost new models
. Prepare and continually maintain accurate quantity take-off estimates
. Research and eliminate any office variance through ongoing communications with field personnel and field visits
. Assist in establishing and maintaining a product data base
. Complete special pricing requests accurately and within a reasonable time frame
. Assist in identifying cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures
. Update, communicate, and verify any hard cost changes due to const increases and quantity changes to Director of Purchasing/Estimating/Drafting
. Assist in the preparation of the log programming analysis report for all current and future subdivisions
. Develop and learn the software system which applies to the job
. Issue thorough, accurate purchase orders within the allotted time frame
. Understand the overall building process, terms, technique and procedures
. Achieve good work habits that include, but not limited to:

. Problem solve with various subcontractors and suppliers
. Compile, build and maintain option assemblies and add pricing to sales book
. Research invoices and various purchase orders to meet Accounting Department deadlines
. Provide Sales Department with pricing needs and technical support
. Increase efficiency and productivity
. Interpret and implement building code changes
. Be onsite and inspect homes under construction to make sure estimates are still accurate
