General Merchandise Buyer

Description: The Judge Group, Inc. is currently in search of a General Merchandise Buyer for a grocery distribution facility located in the Northeast. The General Merchandise Buyer will be expected to handle the following job responsibilities:

? Identify and manage slow-moving, excess and dead inventory
? Maintain a 96-97% service level for the daily on-line replenishment of assigned SKUs
? Demonstrate strong negotiating skills in the maximization of marketing funds, accrual programs, truckload buys, invoice protection, extended terms and new item introductions
? Develop an aggressive approach to meeting weekly departmental budgets and gross margin?need assignments
? Process purchase orders as necessary
? Build and maintain strong relationships with all assigned vendors and brokers

Requirements:

The qualified candidate for the General Merchandise Buyer position MUST MEET the following requirements:

? Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
? 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in GM/HBC.
? Wholesale distribution knowledge a plus.
? Communication skills
? Must be able to Multi-Task
? Problem Solving skills
? Organizational Skills
? Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a dynamic environment is essential.
