Import Specialist
Manage import transactions thorough Customs clearance to ensure timely delivery to the distribution centers, reporting any delays or issues to key constituents. Classify all merchandise that is imported by Eddie Bauer.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manage all catalog import transactions for U.S. shipment and all non-CRSA shipments to Canada
Maintain integrity of PO data relating to catalog
Manage seasonal classification of product and submit binding rulings to Customs
Audit statements to verify classifications and valuations for Custom entry
Track P.O.'s to the distribution centers in Columbus, Ohio and Vaughan, Ontario
Interface with vendors and brokers to resolve entry issues
Manage duty drawbacks on returned/destroyed catalog product
Key contact for U.S. and Canada importing inquiries
Manage exports for International group
Review factory documents for free trade agreement eligibility and c/o verification
REQUIREMENTS:
Three to five years of specialty retail apparel importing experience with some knowledge of exporting, including drawback
Expert classification knowledge and experience with the HTSUS, particularly Chapters 61, 62 and 64
Thorough knowledge of Custom?s regulations, including valuation
Custom?s broker license preferred
Strong communication and writing skills
