Inventory/Purchasing specialist

Private manufacturing company seeks a Material/Inventory clerk for its factory in SE North Carolina. 

 

The successful candidate for this position will have previous successful service in a similar role with responsibility for all factory materials (purchasing, receiving, warehousing, inventory control and management, stock turns etc.).

 

This position will be the liaison between Finance & Manufacturing on new product design for cost and set up.  This job requires independent judgment. Skill in the use of a computer terminal and related manufacturing, database, spreadsheet and word processing software applications packages. Ability to negotiate effectively.  Understanding of MRP ordering concepts and familiarity with purchasing terminology is helpful. Candidate must be a self-starter with initiative and sense of urgency. Expedites orders and backorders, ensures that PO has correct pricing and appropriate delivery date. Maintain purchasing files and records.

 

Duties include:
Maintains production and inventory data base by entering data. Maintains raw material inventory by entering production into data base.

 

Extends and summarizes data by calculating, materials used, average historical usage rates, and defects produced, minimum order quantities, etc.

Maintains materials inventory records by calculating material usage; entering data.Prepares inventory reports by collecting and analyzing information of stock usage.

Help establish inventory levels and minimize inbound freight costs by studying supply usage patterns. 

Verify inventory levels by taking physical counts, tracking lost items and adjusting records. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing production information.
