Master Scheduler

This job function is responsible for maintaining a supply of parts that provide the highest possible customer service within the boundaries of the inventory investment that the dealership deems appropriate. The Master Scheduler reports to Manager Process Control & Order Fulfillment.

1. Translate business plan and sales forecast into actionable manufacturing, purchasing, and subcontract decision-making information.
2. Define and monitor forecasting tools used in BaaN for long-range planning.
3. Assist in establishing methods to pursue lead-time and cost reductions per the business plan
4. Identify and resolve system issues/problems.
5. Define potential deficiencies that could prevent execution of the sales plan.
6. Maintain Crane CARE forecast configuration system for stock order creation.
7. Supervise preparation of actual stock orders, change orders, and maintenance of records to achieve required availability and inventory levels.
8. Provide Access reports, analysis of inventory availability, and overall Buyer and Supplier performance.
9. Manage obsolete material disposals and recommendations.
10. Monitor Supplier Managed inventory levels for maximum inventory, turns and availability performance.
11. Provide Buyers with the required reports to track and monitor open purchase orders.
12. Code new model parts for SIC reordering and monitoring for desired availability results.
13. Performs all stock ordering tasks assigned
14. Performs stock returning tasks assigned


1. Business Administration Degree or 5 years related work experience.
2. Familiar with Statistical Inventory Control (SIC), manufacturing processing methods and material flow structure.
3. Solid equipment and parts knowledge
4. Inventory management training in related fields
5. A solid understanding of the financial aspects of inventory management
6. Knowledgeable in inventory control theory
7. Familiarity with the theory for order point/order quantity calculation
8. Monitors unusual demand patterns in parts sales
9. Strong mathematical skills
10. Good communication skills
11. Excellent interpersonal relations skills
12. Good computer and systems knowledge
13. Must be able to adapt to all forces surrounding this position - customers, suppliers, department employees, co-workers and manufacturers employees.
