TasksManages materials staff (production planning and purchasing), processes, policies, procedures and budgetDevelops and executes strategic procurement plan and administers make/buy decision processLeads spend analysis, cost improvement and strategic sourcing activitiesEnhances/maintains product margins by implementing supplier cost reduction programsManages inventory and turns improvement activitiesSupports Sales/Marketing with pricing and product life cycle managementResponsible for key metrics and reportingAdministers material traceability documentation systemIdentifies, qualifies and manages suitable suppliers of materials worldwideAdministers supplier performance process and resolves supplier issuesParticipates in the new product introduction processActively participates in continuous process improvement initiatives including Six Sigma and Lean enterprise to improve customer satisfaction and company performance

QualificationsBS/BA or equivalent in Engineering or Business required 5+ years planning, production control and purchasing experience 5+ years of department management experience International procurement experience in low cost regions PC/MRP proficiency required Solid analytical and problem solving abilities Professional certifications in at least one of the following preferred: APICS, CPIM, NAPM, CPM SAP/Oracle preferred Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization Excellent planning & execution track record; creative and independent with an organized and detail driven approach Ability to translate daily service challenges into systemic enhancements to customer service processes Working knowledge of ISO 9000 desirable Six Sigma and/or Lean knowledge preferred Domestic and international travel required
