Procurement Manager
Sourcing & Contract Services Mission
The Sourcing and Contracting Services team is the organization within Capital One responsible for managing procurement related transactions with our third party suppliers. Transactions in scope for the group include: supplier inquiries (requests for information, requests for proposals, and request for quotes), non-disclosure agreements, contracts, and contract exhibits and amendments (statements of work, service level agreements, pricing schedules, etc.).
Procurement Manager Roles and Responsibilities
A Procurement Manager is expected to perform (and provide oversight to others who will perform) supplier communications, supplier inquiries and related due diligence, deal strategy, deal negotiations (contract terms and conditions, scopes of work, pricing, etc.) and contract development. A Procurement Managers is expected to act as a central point of contact for a transaction and is responsible for engaging all the internal parties relevant to a given supplier transaction.
A Procurement Manager may, depending on the circumstances, be called on to support or to lead efforts in make-buy analysis, category strategy development, supply market analysis, supplier volume allocation strategy, pricing strategy, statement of work and service level definition, on-going supplier performance management, contract administration and management, invoice to contract compliance, or project management.
Procurement Managers are responsible for ensuring that corporate procurement policies are adhered to and for ensuring that appropriate documentation exists for all of their transactions.
Procurement Managers are expected to work in a collaborative environment with internal customers internal as well with other groups within Supply Chain Management and related functions. Responsibilities Procurement Manager Roles and Responsibilities

Required Skills:
Successful Procurement Managers are expected to be able to demonstrate:
* Outstanding communication and relationship building skills. Procurement Managers must be able to influence and persuade senior executives, provide clear project guidance to customers, and collaborate across SCM and Capital One to lead cross-functional teams.
* Outstanding business judgment on contract and commercial issues
* Excellent subject matter expertise and relevant experience in supplier selection, negotiation, communication, contract development, and supplier management
* Strong problem identification / problem resolution skills.
* Strong analytical abilities. Sourcing associates are required to solve a wide variety of complex problems utilizing data and spend analysis, supplier cost analysis, and qualitative evaluative decision-making.
* Strong initiative, work ethic, and drive
* Ability to lead diverse teams- Procurement Managers should possess the ability to lead a cross-functional team comprised of Associates from Supply Chain Management, Internal and External Legal Counsel, Operational Lines of Business, and other internal Subject Matter Expert groups.
Other Qualifications
* Significant experience in people management, strategy development, process design, project delivery, or sourcing in diverse industries.
* BS/BA required. Prefer that the successful candidate has an MBA, consulting experience or relevant change management experience.
* Five (5) or more years of relevant procurement experience with a Fortune 500 company.
* Experience in outsourcing and/or implementation of large projects that required a diverse team of associates.
* Ability to lead business and legal negotiations of complex sourcing and outsourcing deals in excess of $20 MM in annualized spend.
* Significant experience in people management, strategy development, process design, project delivery, or sourcing in diverse areas.
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment
* Ability to generate and pursue ideas
* Strong complex project management skills
* Demonstrated ability to influence others
* Strong written and verbal communications
* Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
