Purchaser / Materials Control

Purchases raw material and other supplies for incoming orders.
Controls raw material and supply inventories.
Enters purchase orders into accounting system.
Maintains blanket purchase orders.
Reviews and follow up of purchase orders and acknowledgements.
Communicates changes in material deliveries with scheduling.
Negotiate better pricing with vendors and continuously seek better alternatives.
Answers sales questions on raw materials and substitutes materials when possible.
Allocates materials to jobs on a daily basis.
Set up new material codes and specs into our internal systems.
Maintains AS400 system and makes necessary material adjustments.

Qualifications
High school diploma with some college preferred, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Computer knowledge required.

Ability to negotiate on behalf of the organization.

Knowledge of materials and application.
