Purchasing Agent II / Sr.

Procurement and ongoing managment of a variety of procurement actions. Principal accountabilities include: 1. Procurement, contract development (construction, review and negotiation), 2. Negotiate, definitize, document complex purchase orders and agreements, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of quality products and services in accordance with specifications, government regulations and General Dynamics Policies and Procedures. 3. Act as Procurement liason to user organizations, providing guidance, advice and reporting while ensuring coordination of all activities with appropriate management groups.
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience. MBA, JD or work towards same is desired. 5 years professional buying experience. Must have current and relevant experience for a large, multifaceted, multi-site corporation, i.e. fortune 100 company. Demonstrated vendor management abilities required. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Experience with a Government Prime Contractor is desirable. Must have strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills. Must be proficiency in MS Office tools i.e., Excel, Powerpoint. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers as well as General Dynamics technical and business professionals and senior managment.
