Purchasing Manager - Nutrition Products

Our client is a private-label developer and producer of nutrition products across a full range of consumer segments. The work environment is fast-paced, high-energy, and quality-focused ? and due to the aggressive growth and demand for marketshare, our client has opened a confidential search for a Purchasing Manager.

 

The Purchasing Manager role is responsible for the day to day purchasing and inventory coordination of materials, packaging, supplies, and services. This position will have a direct impact on profitability by insuring best possible cost and supply coordination.

 

Position responsibilities:

* Assessing material availability, coordinating orders and releases, managing timing of orders to maintain appropriate supply at best possible cost

* Preparing reports on inventory, pricing, orders, and related items

* Keeping records of vendor transactions, pricing, goods ordered and received

* Coordinating with manufacturing facilities on inventories, scheduling, forecasting, transfer between vendors and plants as necessary

* Development and implementation of centralized purchasing processes.

*Supplier development.

* Developing overall supplier relationships, sourcing strategies and lead negotiations for the procurement of goods and services

 

This position requires that candidates must have a minimum 5 years experience in a corporate purchasing role dealing with multiple vendors in a manufacturing environment.

Additionally the ideal candidate will posses advanced computer skills, strong analytical, organizational, communications and report writing skills and most importantly, a sincere desire to excel.
