Castle is looking for a Purchasing Manager for its Franklin Park, Illinois, location. The Purchasing Manager will direct the activities of a staff of eight buyers in order to ensure that all purchases and inventory management activities are handled in accordance with DSI, material availability, and profit objectives. The Manager will also direct non-standard item purchasing to assure timely and accurate responses on special inquiries and communicate standard cost changes to appropriate sales personnel. In addition, the Manager will participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of model inventories for all districts.

Required Skills:
The sucessful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Business, preferably in Materials Management or a related field, or have equivalent work experience. Coursework in materials/inventory management and/or negotiation skills is a plus. Five to seven years purchasing and/or inventory management experience is required. Two years of supervisory/management experience is a plus. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent communication ablilities, and a solid business acumen are also required. A background in metals or in an automated distribution environment is a plus.
