Purchasing Supervisor (Imports)

JPS Corporation, dba S-Line, is a leading distributor and manufacturer of Cargo Control products located in the Stemmons-LBJ area of Dallas. The Company is privately owned, employs approximately 100 individuals and has been in business for approximately 31 years. Approximately 50% of the Company?s products are imported from China from several different suppliers. Sales are both to commercial transportation companies and retail outlets nationally. Rapid growth of the business is expected over the next 18 months which could easily double the size of the business and shift the mix of imported products and imported components of manufactured products from 50% to 75% of total purchases.

 

Position: The Company seeks an experienced Purchasing Supervisor with experience in an import-based distributor or manufacturer. Position requires a hands-on approach to the role although a small administrative staff requires either experience, or aptitude, in employee supervision.

 

Qualifications:

 

5-7 years experience in purchasing, price and terms negotiation, logistics and planning in an import-based company is required.

 

Experience in importing goods from suppliers preferably in China and Indonesia.  Europe, Mexico will also be considered.

 

Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is highly valued.

 

Bachelor?s degree highly preferred or similar experience.

 

Candidate must be comfortable working in a small-company environment.

 

Candidate must have good communication and organizational skills and be prepared for a rapidly changing environment.
