Purchasing and Contracts Manager

Job     Job Description: -Negotiates contracts with suppliers for good and services, negotiating the best

  possible price and service guarantee

-Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensures compliance

-Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate

-Performs vendor audits and analyzes vendor performance

-Examines bids and makes awards

-Establishes account/credit and terms

-Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the

  time period

-Ensures Investment Budget rules are followed and ensures adherence to policy

-Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers

-Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper supplies arrived

-Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders

-Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws

  requirements

-Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics

-Individual will have demonstrated leadership and be poised to move into a Purchasing

  Director position

-Candidates with automotive, engine, or parts purchasing experience is a plus

 

Job Qualifications:

-3 to 5 years of purchasing experience

-Experience in a manufacturing environment

-Must have strong individual initiative and be able to manage a multitude of projects

  simultaneously

-Detail-oriented, hands-on, and analytical while having the ability to grasp the big picture

-Capable of succinctly and clearly communicating with all levels of management

-Strong analytical skills

-Highly effective negotiating skills

-Excellent time management and personal organization skills

-Skilled at multi-tasking

-Excellent communication skills

-Strong leadership skills

-Working towards or completed CPM certification

-Bachelors degree in Economics, Purchasing, Finance, Supply chain or other applicable

  discipline, if you have 7 years experience or more you will also be considered

-ERP/ADAGE inventory control experience preferred
