Regional Purchasing Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: Leading chemical company desiring to hire a Regional Purchasing Manager for North America. Primary responsibilities will include;
Streamline the order and accounts payable processes while maintaining superior customer service.
Manage working capital and payment terms more effectively.
Build distinctive technology capability, leveraging e-tools.
Strategically source small-volume materials that are region / local specific.
Implement purchasing strategies directed from Corporate.
Manager / supervise plant level purchasing staff.
Work closely with receiving and finance to expedite invoice payment.
Manage day to day supplier interactions.
Feed supplier performance data to performance management.
Actively involve in strategic sourcing idea generation.
Research and introduce new technologies to reduce the need for buyers.
Include tactical operations for tolling materials.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain or related degree.
3 + years of purchasing experience.
Background includes managing a group of high performance individuals.
Understanding of regional supply market and regional regulatory environment.
Chemical and industrial purchasing experience a must.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills required.
SAP knowledge / experience a plus.
Ability to forge strong supplier relationships.
