SENIOR PURCHASER – BILINGUAL MANDARIN / ENGLISH

Shercon, Inc., a well-established, dynamic, innovative, growth oriented Company, specializing in the design of custom molded rubber parts and smart solutions to tough masking problems has an immediate opening for a Senior Purchaser, fluent in both English and Mandarin to assist in coordinating activities related to overseas purchasing, MRO (maintenance, repair and operating supplies), non-inventory items and services and assist with inventory management.


Shercon, a leader in masking technology since 1946, with an exceptional engineering and design team, has a 33,000 Sq. Ft. facility in Santa Fe Springs, CA and a 130,000 Sq Ft state of the art manufacturing facility in Hangzhou, China.

 

Position Requirements : 

? Individual MUST be fluent in Mandarin (written and oral)

? Individual MUST have 3 - 5 years of hands on experience as a senior purchaser in a manufacturing environment, performing price negotiations and vendor selection

? Individual MUST be able to work with vendors in the United States and Overseas

? Job description includes processing quote requests and PO's, expediting, coordinating with freight forwarders, and receiving, as well as market shopping and researching the best pricing sources.

? Ability to Multi-task, managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese to communicate effectively with teammates in the U.S. and China, as well as superiors, vendors, and others needing information and project updates

? Excellent mathematical abilities, including ability to do currency conversions and proficiency to initiate quantative analysis through Excel.

? Must be a hard working, flexible, self-starter who has strong detail orientation, while maintaining a big picture outlook

? Ideal candidate will be able to process information quickly and have the ability to work both independently and on/with a team

? Is attentive to the needs of vendors, teammates, and/or customers, responding quickly and competently to requests

? Skilled at analyzing causes of variances between actual and budgeted costs and expenses

? Experience selecting and managing vendors

? Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures with experience handling material-oriented production and purchasing problems

? Effective organizational skills ? so that files and work area are well organized and neat

? Plans work, Sets goals and outlines tasks to achieve them

? Literacy in MS Office, Outlook and internet research to locate new products and/or new vendors.

? Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration a plus
