The SBS is knowledgeable in chemical commodities and participates in and supports the Commodity Manager in the development and implementation of the global supply base strategy to realize established goals and objectives. The SBS is responsible for obtaining materials, components, and services by working with vendors and coordinating activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. The person in this position will also demonstrate leadership in a team environment resulting in continuous improvement achievements. -Required to interact with suppliers, management and/or customers on quality related concerns from the supply base effecting product compliance, corrective, and preventative actions.
-Participate in the negotiation of short and long term contracts.
-Perform cost/price analysis, use Total Cost of Ownership model, Make or Buy decisions.
-Leads projects including projects involving Lean and items aimed at meeting the cost savings goals.
-Maintains current knowledge of relevant new technologies, materials, equipment and processes within the chemical commodities.
-Prepares monthly summaries of performance data and improvement activities.
-Create Purchase Orders and Requests for Quotation. -Resolves supplier invoicing discrepancies. -Ensures timely delivery of material from supplier to support plant requirements.

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Business, or Engineering
-BA/BS plus min of 4 yrs of related experience or MA/MS plus min of 1 yr related experience.
-Knowledge of chemistry and plating operations.
-Demonstrated working knowledge of MRP programs, E-Procurement, Kanban, JIT, and Consignment.
-Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a rapidly changing set of objectives.
-Strong negotiation skills.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and with suppliers.
-Demonstrated experience with Quality Management Tools, Microsoft Office Suite.
-Self-directed work habits within a Team environment.
