JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Buyer (Electronics only)- Bom Scrub Specialist Department 0321

 

Exempt Indirect Day Shift

 

Degree Required:  N

Experience Required:  10+ years purchasing experience in an electronics manufacturing is a must, preferably power supplies..

 

Responsibilities:

?  Review specific BOMs for cost reduction as directed

?  Identify cost drivers on the BOM and develop a road map for cost reduction

?  Obtain component quotes to support cost reduction road maps

?  Place initial PO?s as directed to support cost reductions or establish initial supply chain

?  Source, negotiate, and buy various commodities. (Emphasis on sourcing/buying)

?  Analyze current pricing trends, identify cost drivers

?  Amend VPA as required as a result of cost reduction activities.

?  Establish the supply chain both internally or at a Contract Manufacturer.

?  Create spreadsheets for bid comparisons analysis.

?  Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing,  and Quality departments.

 

Minimum Technical Requirements:

?  Able to analyze total marketplace and source worldwide.

?  Possesses analytical ability to understand price indexes.

?  Technical knowledge of commodity (ies) assigned.

?  Able to understand / interpret specifications and provide Engineering recommendations.

?  Working knowledge of contracts and contract law.

?  Ability to effectively negotiate received quality, delivery, and price performance.

?  Self-directed; works effectively with minimal supervision.

?  Computer literate most windows applications (Word and Excel etc?).

?  Familiar with computerized MRP systems / practices.

?  Excellent written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills

?  Has excellent follow-up, and status reporting skills
