Senior Buyer- Marketing Events

Seeking strong candidate with experience sourcing and negotiating all facets of marketing events including sponsorships, hotels, fees, etc. This position will be responsible for managing suppliers, developing and implementing commodity strategies, performing supplier capability assessments, continuous improvement and benchmarking world class suppliers to assist the present supply base and identify future suppliers. Exercise sound and ethical judgment in contract negotiations (including terms and conditions) to leverage highest level of quality at lowest cost. Serve as a vital interface to internal customer(s) and management as a recognized source of expertise for the sourcing function. This position is accountable for cost effective sourcing (must have demonstrated cost savings history) and contracting. Responsibilities include negotiation of contractual terms and conditions and development of comprehensive scopes of work. Issues Request for Proposals (RFPs), performs competitive supplier evaluations, and participates in and implements the organization's strategic and tactical plans while driving action cross functionally that may affect organizational policies, practices, processes and procedures. Qualifications include 3-5 years of experience in negotiating and sourcing for marketing events, preferably in a purchasing organization, including knowledge of and experience in contracting, bid evaluation, analysis techniques, and project management. Requires a balance of assertiveness, tact, and diplomacy along with exceptional oral/presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills. Strong Word application skills and SAP background preferred but not required. BA in Business Administration, Marketing or Management. CPM certification preferred but not required.
