UGN, a leading manufacturer of Acoustic interior Trim and Thermal Management Products for Japanese transplant manufacturers in North America, seeks a Corporate Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing Team in Tinley Park, Illinois. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

The selected candidate will manage the cost of assigned commodities, to include developing strategies to reduce overall cost and supplier base; negotiating long-term contracts; increasing business with minority suppliers; and meeting the internal customers needs and objectives. This role also provides guidance to support purchasing administrative activities and identifies ways to streamline current processes to improve overall efficiency and present those ideas to 'Senior Management.'

 

Additional duties:

 

? Establishing/maintaining a capable supply base for raw materials and components

? Sourcing, analyzing, reviewing, developing and finalizing sourcing decisions

? Interacting with all levels of management

? traveling to supplier locations to build relationships and develop a familiarity with different manufacturing processes

 

Requirements:

 

Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of purchasing experience & automotive buyer &/or cross-functional experience, and good communication skills. CPM designation a plus. Knowledge of ISO quality programs, TS16949 & Q9000 requirements & AIAG guidelines/practices a must.  BPICS knoweldge a plus.
