Senior Director Procurement - Specialty Crops

The Senior Director, Ag Procurement position will lead ConAgra's efforts to be a world-class purchaser of Agricultural Materials. It will provide broad exposure to top management, plant and Operating Company personnel, and suppliers. Responsibilities include development and implementing the Enterprise Purchasing vision for the Agriculture category. This area represents approximately $250 million in annualized purchases across multiple operating companies. Reengineer the procurement process to implement Enterprise Purchasing's vision for a consolidated Retail/Foodservice and Ingredient channel buy.
Provide leadership to approximately 3 direct reports.
Consolidate and drive ConAgra Cost Reduction (CCR) programs in the agricultural category across all Operating groups.
Implement supplier strategy utilizing industry modeling and appropriate metrics across ConAgra Foods.
Jointly plan and execute against sourcing strategies that deliver cost/quality/service and innovation productivity improvement.
Leading Operating Companies and suppliers to establish a world-class continuous improvement programs. The program will have clearly articulated aggressive goals for year-on-year improvements.
Represent ConAgra's "one voice" for all Operating Companies in managing supplier issues, concerns, and relations.
Provide leadership, guidance and direction in the professional development of direct and in-direct reports.
Proactively work with Operating Companies to resolve all supply chain issues related to agriculture.
Administer and modify, as necessary, all supplier contracts.
Ensure continuity of supply through Operating Group Supply Management.
Represent procurement on cross-functional special project teams.
Ensure first access to innovation from suppliers. Bachelor's degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
15 + years of significant and diverse management experience in plant operations, supply chain, and/or procurement experience preferred.
A team player; able to use strong communication, analytical and management skills to lead a diverse group forward.
Deep knowledge of the food business. Understanding of economics, technical issues and ability to perform independent value analysis.
Demonstrated strengths in relationship building, problem solving and conflict management.
A passionate, high energy process leader who has the skills to lead in a complex, matrixed environment.
A true leader that builds teams which are motivated to work together to achieve tangible measurable results.
Superior problem solving skills and the ability to think "outside the box".

Some travel required; can be significant at times.
Familiarity with e-procurement technologies and systems integration preferred.
