Senior Purchaser / Buyer

A Woodinville manufacturing company has an immediate need for a Senior Purchaser/Buyer for a two-month, temporary assignment. This position is responsible for the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization. Duties include: preparing bids, analyzing quotations, comparing prices and specifications, negotiating with vendors, preparing orders, verifying deliveries, and assisting in special projects. Additional description: Coordinates all activities related to procurement of parts and materials, from intent to purchase through delivery. Determines production requirements for materials by reviewing and analyzing production demands and parts and/or material requirements. Determines preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed. Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested parts and/or materials. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable supplier(s). Selects vendor and creates purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations. Orders parts using weekly reports (MRP and shortage reports) to ensure just-in-time availability. Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute parts and/or materials in a cost-effective manner. Effectively communicates with internal customers on the status of parts and assists in determining corrective action. Ensures that the parts and/or materials are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company. Inspects exchanged or refunded parts and/or materials. Enters purchase orders and information (part #, vendors, etc.) in computer systems (SAP or Made 2 Manage).All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Qualifications :
Position requires 5+ years of buying experience in a manufacturing environment. BA degree in Business, Purchasing, or related field, and working knowledge of SAP are also required.
