The Southwest Division, located in San Antonio, Texas is currently seeking to fill the position of Senior Purchasing Agent.  This individual will be responsible for managing the purchasing/procurement function for numerous aggregate mining operations throughout the Southwest Division.

 

?  Handles the review and coordination of request for the purchase of large mobile equipment and stationary or portable plants.

?  Works closely with engineering to develop scope of work, bid proposals, bid evaluations, conduct pre-bid meetings, prepare contracts for expensed and capital projects.

?  Acts as liaison between Division and Corporate Procurement Services Department (PSD) to insure corporate guidelines and policies are followed.

?  Assist the PSD in the identification, bidding and evaluation of regional and national purchasing agreements.

?  Follows market conditions, price trends, or futures markets and relays appropriate information to management in consideration of complex and crucial purchases for the division.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

?  College degree or equivalent experience in the construction/mining industry

?  7+ years purchasing or procurement experience for multiple sites

?  Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

?  Analytical and problem solving capabilities

?  Ability to prioritize and multi-task heavy workload

?  Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook)

?  JDE/People Soft experience strongly desired

?  Ability to travel up to 50%
