Senior Sourcing Specialist

Conduct major spend analysis by supplier, commodity or service; identify potential suppliers; and develop and issue requests for proposal with complex pricing tables. Analyze Information Technology (IT) supplier proposals and perform legal, license, and insurance reviews and net present value analysis. Negotiate prices, delivery, insurance, performance, penalties, issue resolution, escalation, and terms/conditions. Additional duties include identifying and obtaining cost improvements for purchased materials and services from supplier through negotiation and continuous management; leading cross-functional IT sourcing initiatives, including the development and implementation of complex sourcing strategies; and developing and administering measurement tools on a contract basis. Also perform trend analysis and identify and implement process improvements, as well as analyze all cost and process aspects of assigned spend.

 

Requires 5+ years career experience, including meaningful experience in Information Technology acquisitions, minimally for software licenses; additional experience in acquisition for computer hardware, and telecommunications equipment is a plus. Need particularly in-depth experience with the licensing of complex software products like Oracle, SAP, Computer Associates or the acquisition of mainframe/high-end server computers or telecommunications equipment and the possible leasing of the same. Must have working knowledge of procurement practices, particularly IT Industry practices, procedures, and policies; business and contract law; accounting principles; as well as operational knowledge of supplier relations, priority management, and tactical planning. MUST HAVE 4-YEAR BS/BA DEGREE.
