We currently have an opportunity for a qualified Sourcing Specialist at our headquarters in Avon, OH.


Summary of Position:

The Sourcing Specialist (SS) is the operational link between Marketing's product/service needs and the outside supplier community.  The SS proactively meets with the Marketing Category Managers and translates their current and future needs to requirements that are actionable to the vendor community (either current or potential new partners).  The SS takes ownership of all aspects of supplier management and insures that the properly specified products are delivered to the designated locations in the proper configuration, on-time and at the lowest possible cost.


Essential Duties:Understand all essential duties of the Sourcing Manager and assist where necessary.Work closely with Marketing Category Managers to insure understanding of category plans and priorities and serve as everyday link for key priority management.Work with all internal departments (Accounting, Mfg., Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, etc.) to serve as liaison for solving problems and pursuing opportunities.Serve as link between Marketing, Accelerated Project Management, Graphics and Technical to insure smooth transitions in packaging updates and changes.Negotiations - Assist in all negotiations in support of Marketing initiatives, set us up to win by insuring involvement from all appropriate parties.  Utilize all negotiating tools.  Take lead in negotiations as directed by Sourcing Manager/GM.Assist in locating and evaluating potential suppliers in support of Marketing category initiatives.Manage all day to day tactical aspects of supplier relationships including:  *Support of Buyers for expediting.  *Gather and provide critical information essential to new item and vendor set up/maintenance.  *With proper approval, issue PO's for new items, to new vendors and for new programs to insure smooth execution/implementation and hand off to Buyers.  *Understand and communicate timing issues and supplier capabilities to all constituents as it relates to serving customer deadlines/expectations.  *Assisting QA in product evaluation and assessment including gathering samples and product specifications from suppliers and serving as the link between Marketing, Sales and QA to determine and communicate requirements and capabilities.  *Assist in line reviews, re-quote processes and daily communication to suppliers on process and procedure requirements/changes.  *Organize and coordinate artwork changes.  *Participate and track progress on corrective actions.  *Review performance reports and communicate daily issues.  Assist in inventory control and improvement initiatives - i.e. lead time reductions, re-work or buy decisions, etc.Assist in legal and contractual issues as they relate to supply agreements and product requirements.

Minimum Requirements:Four year degree in Business. One to three years of previous business experience.  Preferably in a Supply Chain related position. Intermediate knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes. Excellent quantitative skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Well developed interpersonal skills (written and verbal.) Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Prefer JDE mainframe (or similar) experience.
