About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team at our Torrance location.  The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring Hi-Reliability Electronic components for spacecraft in an efficient, cost-effective, expeditious manner.  The principal activities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:Select and develop competitive sources of supply in accordance with good business practices, company policies and procedures and government regulationsCoordinate activities with other internal departments/teamsResolves internal/external and interface issuesExecute pre-award, award and post award phases of procurementEnsures purchase agreements are properly closed out in accordance with company policies and proceduresApprises management of supplier progress and/or issuesDevelops and maintains good ethical supplier relationshipsInvestigate, analyze and negotiate prices, source selection, delivery, quality requirements, terms/conditions for procurement of assigned commodities or services and acts as a committing authority for the company in relationship with suppliers

 

Skills and KnowledgeCandidate will have a thorough understanding of procurement principles and their application, business functions involved in and related to procurement and knowledge of materials and manufacturing process or service procurementRequired experience in high reliability active and passive space level electronic components procured to Source Control Drawings and/or Military specifications Familiarity with military test specifications Must be flexible and able to handle a heavy workloadExcellent communication, negotiation and administrative skillsKnowledge/Awareness of specific and general marketplace conditions

 

RequirementsBachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration, Business Management or related field5+ years working experience in all aspects of procurement, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceNegotiation and auditing skills with RFQ/RFP, government and commercial contracts and internal document controlWorking knowledge of Oracle and ISO 9000 is a plusJob requires some domestic travel
