Sr. Buyer

General Summary:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for the procurement of all Inventory, MRO and Services across the organization. The Sr. Buyer will interact closely with all organizations within the company to assure the timely execution of the purchase requirements. This position will interface closely with Manufacturing and our Contract Manufacturers to execute purchase requirements in accordance with the approved Master Production Schedule or approved requisition. 

 

The Sr. Buyer is required to handle multiple activities in the areas of tactical procurement. This includes execution of purchase order placement, maintenance and closure. In addition, Sr. Buyers will be responsible to assure cost down and on time delivery targets are met.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

?  Performs within the appropriate guidelines authorized by the company to assure fiscal responsibility and integrity

?  Performs vendor research, selection, solicits and negotiates pricing

?  Ensure purchase orders are placed and acknowledged in a timely manner in accordance with SafeNet Specifications or requirements described by the requisitioner

?  Expedite existing orders to assure on time deliveries are met

?  Assure Purchase Order backlogs are reconciled with the Supplier and all order information is accurate

?  Works to assure on time delivery is met

?  Performs data entry and analysis as required

 

 

 

Job Specifications:

?  Minimum of 3-5 years purchasing experience preferably within a manufacturing environment.

?  Knowledge of procurement practices for vendor selection, price negotiation, order placement and follow-up

?  Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple issues at one time.

?  Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal direct supervision

?  Familiarity with  MRP/ERP system.

?  Works well with all levels of the organization
