POSITION DESCRIPTION:


To establish practical and economic methods of purchasing.

 

A good working knowledge of Supply Chain functions and a working knowledge of Oracle is necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


?  Assure that qualified materials with proper specifications are ordered
?  Respond to general inquiries for technical information
?  Develop supplier relationships based upon common interests, mutual trust, and mutual benefit
?  Negotiate suppliers terms, conditions, and pricing
?  Mediate and resolve disputes and problem shipments
?  Forecast product usage
?  Explore alternative sources for new purchased products
?  Identify potential new suppliers
?  Attain the best value in terms of quality, cost, and service
?  Negotiate purchase agreements that are honored by both parties
?  Additional duties may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:


?  College Degree ? BS in Business or equivalent major preferred but not necessary
?  Minimum of 5 years purchasing experience
?  Excellent PC skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Oracle
?  Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work well with customers
.  Ability to work in a multi-task, high paced environment, be self-directed and able to prioritize responsibilities, coordinate on-going projects, provide precise attention to detail and  coordinate efforts of the operation with management staff.
.  Ability to travel as required both domestically and internationally
.  Fluency in second language a plus
