Sr. Supply Manager

We have an outstanding opportunity located at our global headquarters in Aurora, Illinois for a Sr. SupplyManager.

 

The Sr. Manager is responsible for delivering value to CMC through optimal procurement of direct materials (Particle/ Chemical raw materials), development of strategic suppliers, minimization of supply risk and the utilization of a globally integrated procurement system.

 

The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience in the areas of supply chain management, global material procurement and contract development / negotiation, be innovative and aggressive in their approach to commercial business management and advancing procurement processes capable of supporting a $1B multinational company. The candidate must also have the ability to interface/coordinate supply related initiatives across multiple functions within the business including Quality, Manufacturing, Global Business teams and Research &Development.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Technical ? Strong understanding of technical raw material procurement. Understanding of business law and contract development required.  Understanding or ability to learn at a high level basic particle and slurry manufacturing processes. Basic quality systems (ISO-9001) understanding required. Six sigma certification a plus.

Business/Managerial ? Strong problem solving skills, project management/ commercial management skills and negotiation skills are required. Planning, prioritizing and goal setting skills required. Demonstrated ability to lead project groups, set strategic/task direction and effective planning and organization skills required.  Ability to juggle multiple tasks/projects at one time.

Behavioral ? Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required.  Strong initiative/ self-starter. Demonstrated commitment to task required. 

Computer ? Experience in using Word and Excel required; Business systems experience (preferably Oracle 11x) required.

Education: Chemistry or Materials Science or equivalent work experience. CPM or CPIM certification preferred.  MBA preferred.

Experience: 4-6 years industry experience (R&D, product development, plant operations) a must.  Supply Chain/ Procurement experience preferred. Experience with implementing Six-sigma methodologies preferred. Experience in contract development / negotiation required. Experience with e-procurement preferred.

Travel ? 20%
