ABOUT THE POSITION

 

As Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be in charge of various commodities such as metals, fabrications, castings, plastics, injection molded items, chemicals, adhesives and other items with over $200M in spend responsibility. You will develop global suppliers in Asia, North and South America as well as Europe with a special focus on suppliers from China. 

 

You will be a key player in leading performance improvement programs using your leadership experience in Six Sigma methodologies.

 

Your background in Purchasing and Global Sourcing from a large scale multi-site manufacturing environment will be very useful as you work with key members of the Supply Chain team, new product development, engineering and other key functional areas of the business.

 

 

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

 

At least 5-10 years of experience in Purchasing and Global Sourcing with a track record of success in the following commodity areas: steel, metal fabrication, plastics, chemicals, adhesives, packaging, and other relevant items. Solid track record of Continuous Improvement and use of Six Sigma, LEAN and other methodologies.

 

Previous experience from the automotive or consumer durables industries is preferred, but not required.

 

Proven track record in cost reduction and development of strategic souring strategies. Experience in LCC (Low Cost Country) sourcing is required.

 

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.  Superb negotiating skills required.

 

Strong Leadership skills, ability to motivate others. Strong analytical ability.

 

Experience in Six Sigma methodologies strongly preferred, Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable.

 

Degree Required, MBA or MS Degree preferred.



COMPENSATION

 

Excellent package includes a base of $85-95 plus a bonus of up to 20%, 401K plan, outstanding medical and other benefits.
