Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Duties:  Responsible for ensuring that stragtegic sourcing agreements are arranged at the best price, with advantageous lead-times and terms and conditions, commensurate with company quality standards.  Responsible for managing supplier relationships.  Lead commodity teams to enhance supplier performance.  Monitor supplier activity relative to pricing, delivery, flexibility and quality.  Ensure that contract and procurement standards are developed and maintained.  Develop and implement sourcing strategies for all commodities.  Ensure that all sourcing is processed in a timely manner.  Analyze and report on the markets, economic, supply and internal data for cost benefits and supply issues and identify and develop cost savings alternatives.  Conduct on-going internal reviews with product and engineering managers to monitor changes in involvement in supplier selection and product development.  Lead negotiation teams with suppliers for strategic commodities.  Plan and develop negotiation strategies.  Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of supplier proposals and monitor savings and benefits.  Manage commodity engineering personnel including recruiting, hiring, supervising, and performance appraisals.  Prioritize workloads.  Develop and train staff to ensure high skill levels.  Develop, implement, and monitor systems for maintaining optimal inventory levels of raw material that support flexible responses to forecasted and un-forcasted demands.

 

Experience/Skills Required:  Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or Business, 5 years experience in a senior purchasing role for electronic components or 5 years experience in electronic component sales in a management role.
