Strategic Sourcing Mgr-Clinical Bus Ops -

Job Description: General Summary: The position is directly responsible for understanding and satisfying sourcing and procurement informational needs of the Pre-Clinical and Clinical operations commodity. The following work performed will be done under limited direction of a Strategic Sourcing Leader and Vice President, Clinical Business Operations.

Duties &Responsibilities:
Identify, develop and manage strategic business relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements which support Pre-Clinical and Clinical operations growth objectives and sourcing requirements.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify strategic sourcing opportunities and requirements.

Provide analytical support and business case development for supplier value management and partner-based solutions.

Develop and implement best practice business alliance and strategic sourcing processes.

Maintain and provide a current understanding of industry best practices and trends and commodity expertise to team members and business partners.

Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier value and work collaboratively with business partners and team members to prioritize and drive implementation. Be results driven.

Job Experience:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in purchasing or strategic sourcing in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, clinical operations or External Service Provider organization.
Must have strong communication and presentation skills and be a strategic/tactical/operational thinker. Must have strong analytical/problem solving/project management skills and strong computer, technical skills. Ability to properly analyze and present financial data.

Attributes/Qualifications:
Capable of acting as a change manger to create new procurement approaches.

Need to have or develop strong category expertise, be able to effectively articulate, and gain the respect of internal customers.

Procurement skills and category experience can be a plus, but candidate must possess a combination of fundamentals, and ability to quickly absorb new material.

Sound business judgment and superior analytical skills are required.

Ability to lead internal organization through a change in procurement culture with strong and decisive decision making flexible work style and a collaborative customer-oriented view of procurement.

Ability to take an independent stand and challenge the ideas of site managers and internal stakeholders while maintaining their respect and confidence.
