Supervisor Material Control

Responsible for the direction and supervision of a group engaged primarily in a normal range of material control operations.

Responsibilities include the accumulation and issuance of a wide range of raw, semi-finished and finished materials, parts, components and suppplies, and the maintenance of all required records and reports.

Work from production schedules, inventory records, bills-of-material and other data and information supplied or available to develop and establish, within approved limits, adequate inventory levels to satisfy current production schedules, and to order and schedule material to meet specific dates and complete schedules based on material planning forecasts.

Plan and arrange work of group for the most effective use of personnel, equipment and areas to meet objectives and control costs. Check availability of materials. Review data received, contact departments involved to discuss apparent errors or discrepancies. Follow progress of work, anticipate or investigate causes of delay or inadequate performance, take corrective action within limits of established practice; refer unusual matters to supervisor.

Work with all departments and personnel as required to resolve problems regarding matters of mutual interest or inter-related responsibility.

Direct, instruct, assist and check subordinates as to schedules, methods, standards of performance, company rules and regulations and other matters affecting their work. Maintain discipline and good personnel relations.
