Supplier Relations Specialist

The Supplier Relations Specialist is responsible for managing performance of key suppliers and distributors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Work with key stakeholders throughout the organization to define strategic sourcing requirements and ensure high level service requirements are achieved.
* Implements integrated sourcing strategies throughout Kaiser Permanente to include initiatives that will provide improved service, cost efficiencies and maximum standardization throughout the entire supply chain (e.g., inventory management, product standardization & utilization, price/volume leveraging, freight costs and waste.)
* Collects and manages supplier performance metrics to ensure high levels of service quality and performance to the Kaiser organization.
* Performs quality assurance audits of key suppliers and distributors.
* Defines and resolves performance and strategic sourcing issues with key stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
* Develops and manages monthly communications and performance metrics reporting for key stakeholders.
* Responsible for development plans for systems, service,inventory and accounting problem resolution related to key suppliers.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree in business administration, material management or related field or equivalent experience required
* 5+ years of experience in purchasing, contracting, material management, logistics/distribution or equivalent experience required.
* Health care experience preferred
* Excellent computer skills including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Lotus Notes.

* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within cross functional teams.
* Ability to work within a complex organization and work effectively with all levels of management.
* Strong business knowledge of contract administration, sourcing and distribution.
* Able to effectively use Project Management tools.
* Ability to influence peers and others where position has no direct authority.
* Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment to develop alliances.
