Vehicle Acquisitions Research and Contracts Coordinator

The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation seeks a Vehicle Acquisitions Research and Contracts Coordinator. Under direction, perform highly responsible work in determining the acceptability of various supplies, materials and products to ensure adherence to purchase orders or contact specifications, terms, conditions and related codes and regulations. Ensuring the highest level of transparency and integrity of all procurement transactions. Coordinate preparation of vehicle technical specifications and contracts in both acquisitions and service areas. Research market trends, product availability, and legislative issues relating to new equipment, vehicles, repairs and related matters, with a focus on alternative fuel-technology. Work with borough operations, vendors and other automotive technical resources to design and approve specifications. Act as a liaison with City and other governmental agencies to bid contracts and approve vendors. Work with fleet management to set procurement priorities, and Capital Projects to secure and track funds for new equipment. Help coordinate the agency?s major annual fleet and equipment show.
Track vehicle orders and follow-up with vendors on delivery timetables, special modifications, and warranty work. Keep accurate records and prepare written reports. Perform related work.

Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, plus two years of satisfactory full-time experience or a satisfactory equivalent. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience with contract supervision and inter-agency coordination. Extensive background in automotive, mechanical or electrical engineering, specifying, or other related technical discipline. Proven record of goals based accomplishment and project/time management. Advanced written and computer skills and strong interest in vehicles and equipment. A valid New York State Driver License.
