CORRESPONDENT OPERATIONS MANAGER

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for staffing and directing the Correspondent Operations department for the Fort Wayne, Indiana site. Develop new and support existing policies to acquire closed loans from top mortgage lenders.  Promote the growth of industry knowledge and customer service techniques among staff members. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Defines the staffing needs for the annual business plan based on proven best practices for correspondent lending.

?  Recruits, trains, motivates and retains staff members.

?  Develops and refines workflow processes to achieve maximum productivity while minimizing costs and risk.

?  Provides recommendations for product, seller guide and website enhancements.

?  Takes a proactive role in the development of systems to maximize productivity, underwriting consistency and customer service.

?  Insures excellent communication between the sales/operations teams and the customer.

?  Creates win, win situations among employees, departments and customers.

?  Analyzes and proactively resolves operational issues within specified turn times.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: 

?  Performs special projects as required.

?  Interacts with the correspondent customers on numerous levels

Team Lead(s) Monitors the daily flow of work and personnel in the team assigned to a specific client base, which includes data entry, loan review, underwriting, and funding.

Collateral Lead Monitors the daily work flow and personnel in the in the team assigned to collateral review, Note control, MERs monitoring, Mailroom, government monitoring and collateral shipping.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

?  4 year degree, but can be offset with work experience

?  8 to 10 years experience in mortgage banking production operations or post closing operations

?  5 to 8 years experience managing a central or large regional operations center

?  High level skills in team building and recruiting

?  Proven project management skills

?  Proven industry operational and financial management skills

?  Advanced organizational and process management skills

?  Superior Customer Service skills

 

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

?  Experience in system development to design and implement system improvements

?  Ability to build, maintain and execute queries in Access or other user definable reporting systems
