Chief Financial Officer Real Estate Fund

SUMMARY:

Our client is part of one of the largest global real estate investment funds, with over $90B in real estate under management, and a high profile in the United States with headquarters in New York City.  The Company manages a $4 billion open-ended fund that invests in a broad range of property types, and has consistently returned exceptional returns to investors.  In light of strengthening economic conditions, they plan to recruit a Chief Financial Officer who will have broad responsibility for financing, accounting and controls, risk management, tax valuation and related matters.  This is an exceptional long-term career opportunity, with significant responsibility and growth potential for a senior finance professional who is interested in joining a leader in real estate investment management.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The CFO for the fund is an important role within a small portfolio team of five.  This position requires significant real estate investment financial management, acute business judgment, proven leadership and client management skills.

 

? Management of all accounting, finance, treasury, performance measurement, budgeting & forecasting, regulatory and tax aspects for the Fund

? Strategic leadership of Fund capital structure, investment structuring, tax strategies, reporting, cash management, and distributions policy

? Negotiate Fund and investment level borrowings, maintain positive lender relationships and ensure compliance with loan covenants

? Establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with internal and external constituents including investors, lenders, consultants, rating agencies, auditors

? Management of all aspects of Fund financial reporting

? Co-leadership with the Fund portfolio manager of quarterly investor conference calls

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Minimum of ten years or real estate investment accounting/financial management

? Public Accounting experience highly desirable

? Considerable experience in financial reporting, property level financing and taxation

? Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix management environment

? Bachelor degree in finance or accounting, advanced degree in business or taxation highly desirable

? CPA required
