Collateral Review Analyst
Origen Financial, Inc. (Origen) is an internally managed and internally advised company that has elected to be taxed as a real estate investment trust (REIT). Origen is a national consumer manufactured home lender and servicer that offers a complete line of home-only products, land-home conforming and non-conforming products, and servicing for manufactured home-only and land-home loans. Origen through its predecessors has been originating loans since 1996. In May 2004, Origen announced its initial public offering and is listed on the NASDAQ under ORGN. Origen is headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, with significant operations in Fort Worth, Texas.
Origen?s front-line market expert in the assigned area. Responsible for staying abreast of legal issues for that area, reviewing, decision making, and monitoring all communities, appraisers, and individual appraisals for that assigned area. Responsible for the initial contact between Origen Financial and manufactured housing communities. Works closely with the Operations division, Remarketing, and potentially the Correspondent group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:
Contact manufactured housing communities to request information needed for review.
Review all communities? pass/fail within 48 hours of receiving notice.
Work closely with Doc Specialists to ensure collateral review conditions are being met.
Maintain a database comprised of approved appraisers and communities.
Review new appraisers to approve or decline according to policy and procedures. Update appraiser licensing as they expire in the system.
Appraisal Review: Review communities to determine if our comparable appraisal program should be offered.
Review appraisals to ensure our collateral valuations are appropriate within 24 hours of receiving the appraisal.
Communicate with Underwriting the status of appraisal via email, Polaris, or phone call.
Continuing Education: Become Origen?s appraisal expert by taking appraisal classes and staying involved in community legislation. Stay current with community awareness by attending seminars and conventions.
Quality communication with Sources.
Participate in corporate training programs.
Prepare and maintain a record of all community, appraisal, and appraiser reviews.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
BS/BA, or Associates Degree preferred, or commensurate work experience with two to five years in the consumer lending or real estate industry, preferably in manufactured housing. Previous appraisal experience also essential to job success.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in a Windows environment, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must obtain a Manufactured Housing Appraisal License within initial 12 months of employment.
Continued education in real estate appraising is required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and solve problems in a timely manner.
Must be organized and detail-oriented.
