Compliance Specialists

Atlanta Housing Authority, an asset management organization with a real estate portfolio valued in excess of $400 million, is a catalyst for redefining community building.

 

We are currently seeking Compliance Specialists to perform management and occupancy compliance review functions for AHA-owned properties and properties under contract  with AHA and the Georgia Hap Administrators, Inc. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Perform Section 8 contract administration functions related to private developments with AHA and Georgia HAP Administrators, Inc. Meet all Section 8 contract administration deadlines and performance standards in accordance with program and contractual requirements.

 

Conduct annual on-site management and occupancy reviews for each assisted property, follow-up on outstanding Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rules and regulatory issues and coordinate actions with owners/agents as applicable.

 

Review requests for rent increases from owners/agents, process contract renewals, special claims, replacement reserve requests and HAP vouchers of assisted developments, as necessary.

 

Report on the performance of owners/agents of assisted developments in addressing any deficiencies in their audited financial statements and in addressing any physical deficiencies identified by HUD?s Real Estate Assessment Center.

 

Prepare reports on program activities and functions.

 

Core Competencies:

High school diploma or equivalent with two to three years of related experience.

 

Demonstrated proficiency of current office technology and software applications.

 

A Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation issued by a recognized certifying authority is required or must be obtained within eleven (11) months of hire.

 

Knowledge of regulatory compliance involving HUD, Project-Based Section 8, and/or public housing is essential.

 

Must have a valid Georgia driver?s license.  Local travel and semi-monthly overnight travel required.
