Controller/NYC

Executive recruitment firm specializing in Real Estate seeks a Controller for our client, a prominent New York Real Estate Investment firm.

 

Primary Responsibilities Manage all accounting, finance, treasury, performance measurement, budgeting & forecasting, regulatory and tax functions. Develop portfolio forecasts for operations, cash flow and investment returns. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on matters such as ownership structure, client reporting and distribution policy. Maintain all financial aspects of client reporting and coordinate with portfolio management teams in preparing quarterly and annual reports.  Negotiate mortgage loan and other credit facility borrowings, maintain effective lender relationships and ensure compliance with debt covenants. Present investment performance and attribution analysis to portfolio management and clients. Maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients including investors, lenders, consultants, auditors etc. Manage portfolio finance team including performance and compensation reviews. Actively represent firm on key industry bodies and associations. Train and develop staff.



 

Job Qualifications A minimum of 10+ years accounting/finance leadership position experience in investment environment. Public accounting experience a plus. Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. CPA required - advanced degree a plus. Highly motivated self-starter. Articulate individual with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to independently problem solve. Superb leadership skills.
