Director Design (Project Manager)

Job Description: To assist in management of Interior Designers in the completion of the prestigious Pelican Hill 5 star Hospitality Resort.
Provide structure to and control of assigned projects to ensure they meet or exceed company design standards within budget and time frame.
Coordinate and oversee Project Management Company & Purchasing Agent in completion of purchase orders to specification, assist in tracking product ordering, review and inspection of furnishings & finishes to conform to specification.
Review of field conditions to conform to drawings.
Management of project schedules for assigned areas, for a fast paced schedule.
Report directly to the V.P of design.
This position does not actively design, but reviews the work of others and helps senior. staff in the management of the overall design process.

Qualifications:
Hospitality experience preferred but not essential.
Exceptional knowledge of all FF&E components including; fine furnishings & finishes, bed coverings, fabric, fine art and decorative accessories.
Understanding of and proclivity to manage all aspects of the interior design purchasing process for large scale projects. Including review of purchase orders, inspection of furnishings and experience with installation supervision.
Desirable skills and habits include: clear and effective communicator, self-motivated, goal-driven, organized and detail-oriented, computer literate, and independent thinker with sound judgment, resourceful, ability to work independently and with a team.
Ability to develop and monitor schedules and deadlines.
Ability to read and understand floor plans to scale
Review and understand with professional proficiency detailed construction documents including floor plans, elevations and sections, reflected ceiling plans, electrical, millwork details, finish schedules, furniture floor plans, FF&E specifications, materials and finishes to verify compliance with design documentation and corporate expectation.
An understanding of commercial/hospitality interior design code requirements recommended but not compulsory.
