Director of Tax

 

Responsible for managing the tax reporting, tax planning and compliance function. Prior experience and understanding of REIT?s with CMO & REMIC transactions as well as intercompany transfer pricing.  Oversees the completion of accurate tax returns in order to minimize the tax obligations of our company. Must be familiar with regulations at the federal, state and local level.

 

 

Requires BA degree in business administration and Big 4 CPA. Masters in Taxation is preferred.

Must have 7-10 years of tax experience in a financial services environment

 

Duties:

 

?  Tax accounting of REIT, REMIC and CMO transactions including the monitoring and projections of excess inclusion taxable income.(Must know this)

 

?  Assist with calculating quarterly and annual FAS 109 income tax provisions.

 

?  Complete tax research assignments and respond to tax questions from business units and accounting personnel

 

?  Maintain, test and report effectiveness of Sarbanes Oxley internal controls

 

?  Tax planning and research (NOL?s and FAS 123R)

 

?  Prepare and review tax work  papers for calculations of complex book/tax difference

 

 

?  Conducting research and planning according to current tax laws, and advising senior management on the tax impact of current and proposed company activities and transactions.

 

?  Supervise tax department

 

?  Reviewing various corporate tax returns and year ?end tax accruals, estimating income taxes.

 

?  Identifying ways to minimize tax liability each year in accordance with current tax laws.

 

?  Representing the company on tax audits conducted by outside regulatory agencies

 

?  Facilitating communication with appropriate government agencies and in-house counsel related to tax matters.

 

?  Overseeing reporting and payment of all local,  state and federal taxes

 

?  Oversee SOX 404 tax compliance

 

?  Transfer pricing

 

?  Compliance with FAS 109

 

?  Nationwide tax provision

 

?  Effective tax rate reconciliation

 

?  Projection of effective tax rate

 

?  Coordinate tax compliance with external accountants.

 

?  Multi-state tax returns

 

?  Setup and maintain tax books

 

?  Coordinate preparation and electronic filing of federal tax returns, extensions, and estimates

 

?  Manage income tax compliance systems
