Divisional Credit Manager (Irvine, California)

The Divisional Credit Manager is the primary contact for the Regional Underwriting Managers.  The Divisional Credit Manager will leverage the time and focus of the Director, by being the point of contact for monitoring performance, signing off on exceptions, mentoring and monitoring the performance of the Regional Operation Managers, coordinating training efforts, and elevating issues as needed to the Director. 

The DCM will also be highly focused on championing and maintaining close working relationships with sales, operations, and credit.

 

- Must have extensive knowledge of standard appraisal practices, credit reports and credit standards, sub-prime mortgage lending terminology and practices. 

 

Skills include the ability to: review documents and spot inconsistencies and errors; review guidelines, memos, manuals, and incorporate changing guidelines into everyday work;  coach and mentor;  make decisions in a quick and timely fashion; work within a fast-packed environment that often demands multiple tasks in a short time frame.  Excellent oral and written skills are required. 

 

- Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years sub-prime mortgage underwriting experience, with at least two years of management experience. 

 

- College degree is preferred, but equivalent work experience may be acceptable.
