First Vice President, Correspondent Lending National Operations Manager

The First Vice President, Correspondent Lending Services National Operations Manager oversees and coordinates activities of personnel involved in performing mortgage lending operations in a regional operation center of Indymacs Mortgage Banking Group, Mortgage Professionals, responsible for $500 700 million in monthly production volume, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This position oversees team operations, ensuring that all intake, underwriting, funding, and post-closing staff are performing efficiently, and in a manner consistent with corporate goals and cross-regional practices. On a nationwide basis, the National Operations Manager ensures proper processing and funding of mortgage loans in a compliant and timely manner, so that the regional center consistently meets or exceeds loan volume and quality expectations, also ensures that operations personnel perform their functions in a customer-focused manner, taking care to serve external and internal customers in accordance with Indymacs mission statement and expectations. This position also oversees the performance of business channel and team managers, using regular meetings and other communication mechanisms, to ensure that managers direct and track work performance according to established standards.

The Correspondent Lending Division (CSD) has 2 operations centers. For eastern correspondents, the loans are forwarded to Atlanta. In the west, the loans flow into Phoenix for processing, underwriting and purchase functions are located.


Requirements:

Top candidates for this position will have experience leading Correspondent Operations with management experience at the level of Vice President, First or Senior Vice President as this position will manage 2 Vice President-level department managers currently in place.

Must have 10+ years of mortgage banking experience, preferably with correspondent and conduit products, evident by demonstrating a thorough knowledge of correspondent lending operations including audit, funding, underwriting and supporting technology. Also, must have strong leadership and execution skills, strong analytical skills and a solid metrics-orientation to develop reports showing activities and success.

The selected candidate will also have proven skills in leading and directing a high quality management team with outstanding credibility for making quality and timely decisions, a reputation for being a motivator of subordinates and demonstrated experience in managing a complex operating environment in a mortgage business with responsibilities for loan quality, customer response, underwriting and general fulfillment operations.

We are seeking a candidate with the ability to leverage organizational structure to drive change from a remote location, someone with proven experience in all areas of human resources management including hiring, staff development, compensation, and employee relations (counseling and terminations).
