Duties:
* Evaluates loan risk by verifying loan application information; verifying application information against loan criteria guidelines and standards.
* Clarifies risk by requesting additional information.
* Rejects loans by identifying and documenting deficiencies; returning application to loan officer.
* Ranks risk by estimating degree of risk; noting any additional requirements;
* Provides information by answering questions; responding to requests.
* Maintains customer confidence by keeping application information confidential.
* Provides loan control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
* Accomplishes organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 yrs. experience as a mortgage underwriter, thorough knowledge and proficiency in all levels of mortgage underwriting, excellent analytical decision making skills, high attention to details, strong written and verbal communication skills, prioritizes work flow and urgency, fast past environment
