Loan Closing Coach

Description:
Wholesale Lending is the channel through which the ING Bank originates loans from Loan Brokers. This function includes origination, underwriting, processing, closing and booking to the Bank's loan servicing system. Wholesale Loan Operations is the department within Wholesale Lending that comprises processing, closing and booking. The Closing unit is responsible for the preparation of loan documents and the funding of loans in accordance with the Policies and Procedures established by Wholesale Loan Operations.

The Loan Closing Coach is responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of Loan Closing Department. These processes include generating complete and accurate closing documents in a timely manner, providing status information to Settlement Agents, preparing and initiating wire requests for loan proceeds, reviewing HUD1 for compliance and acceptance, reviewing executed loan document packages for completion and acceptance, and notifying Settlement Agents of deficiencies.

The Coach ensures that all requirements as outlined in the Secured Home Lending Policy Manual are followed. The Coach trains and supervises the staff and identifies associates' strengths and challenges, taking steps to raise their development through established guidelines.

Essential Functions:
* Responsible for the completion of the Loan Closing processes.
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the department to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
* Provides internal and external customer service by phone, mail, fax or email.
* Demonstrate proficiency in standard Closing practices.
* Ensure adequate processes and proper management of the team to achieve department standards.
* Monitor individual employee work production and error rate.
* Responsible for staffing of department as well as handling employee related issues.
* Provide timely performance appraisals for the team as per company guidelines.
* Monitor the development and maintenance of the department's policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and completion of updated manual.
* Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to as outlined in the Operations Policies/Procedures and Secured Home Lending Policy Manuals.
* Consistently work to deliver efficiencies to the processes, which improve the costs, quality and productivity of the department.
* Manage and/or participate in various department projects and responsibilities.
* Communicates new procedures, changes in procedures to staff and ensure implementation.
* Work cooperatively with coaches of other units to ensure optimal service levels are achieved.

Qualifications:
* 2-5 years experience in residential loan processing.
* Mortgage and Home Equity product knowledge.
* Some management or supervisor experience.

Education and/or Certifications:
* A post-secondary education in related field is a plus.

Technical skills and abilities:
* Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills
* Computer literate
* Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
* Sound knowledge of the residential mortgage business
* Commitment to setting and achieving goals
* Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment

Working Conditions:
* Fast-paced, high volume production environment
* May be required to work over 40 hours as needed, including nights and weekends
* Extensive computer usage
